Shires Income PLC is an investment trust. The Company's investment objective is to provide shareholders with a high level of income, together with growth of both income and capital from a portfolio substantially invested in the United Kingdom equities. The Company invests in the ordinary shares of the United Kingdom quoted companies, and in convertible and preference shares with above average yields. The Company's assets are invested in equities, preference shares and convertible shares. Approximately 69% of the assets are invested in equities, over 26.2% in preference shares, and the remainder in convertible shares and cash. It invests in a range of sectors, including oil and gas, basic materials, industrials, consumer goods, healthcare, consumer services, telecommunications, utilities, financials and technology. The Company's investment manager is Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited.
