The Dow Jones Emerging Markets Select Dividend IndexSM aims to capture the performance of emerging market dividend paying companies that can sustain an appropriate dividend program over time. Selected companies must have a non-negative trailing 12-month earnings per share (EPS), as an indicator of company profitability, and each company must have paid dividends during each of the past three years.
